Tools Needed for this Activity: cotton ball, polishing cloth, colin, oil mat & brass object.

Pre-Preparation required: Keep all the things required on a tray so that the child is easily able to find all the tools required to polish the brass.

Learning Objective:

To show the child how to clean objects in his environment

Development of concentration through order and sequence and development of muscular control.

Observation to make:

How the brass object looks clean.

The polishing cloth has become slightly dirty.

Content coverage brief :

The student will learn to polish brass objects.

Prerequisites: Pooja objects, vase, lock & keys, door handles, utensils, lamps, candle stands, gift items, bells.

Instructional objectives

To be shown a day before the presentation:

Show this picture to the child. Ask them how it looks?

After the response, ask them to find how to make it clean.

Let the child wash it with water, and ask their parents how to clean it.

Let them come up with answers for the next day.

Instruct the parents the next day to get the tamarind ready to make the polish.

The day of presentation:

After discussing answers with children, tell them that this object will become clean if we polish it with tamarind. show them the following pictures. The tree, pod, and how to prepare the polish.

Instruct the child how to prepare the tamarind polish.


Ask the children to take a small cup, soak lemon-sized tamarind in warm water. Let it soak for 1 hour. Do this at the beginning of the class. Let this be the last activity for the day.

Just before the activity, prepare the polish. Show how to squeeze the tamarind inside water, and filter the polish.

Throw away the residue, and wash your hands. Now it is all set to polish!

Instructional procedure

Please let the parents know ahead of time that you will be introducing how to polish a brass object. They should look out for an object which really needs a polish.

Today I am going to show you how to polish the mirror.

Keep all the tools ready

Keep the brass object ready.

Take the cotton ball and dip a little into tamarind polish, apply it on the brass object, every nook and corner in circular movements.

Take the polishing cloth and give pressure and polish.

Look for any part that needs extra pressure and polish.

Show your object to the child and say how bright it is after polish.

Show the child it is clean now!

Ask the child to polish his brass objects.

Bring the child’s attention and say, we don't brush with a sop, what do we use?

The children will say toothpaste. Same way certain objects will need specific polish to shine.

Pin each child to the screen and let them show how their objects shine. .

Ask the child to keep back all the tools

For the next polish show how to use earbuds to apply polish in the designs on the brass.

Trainer instruction for activity closure:

Ask -Does the object look beautiful and shining after you have polished it?

Challenges:

The child may dilute the polish.

Apply less polish.

Post Class:

Ask parents to make the child polish other brass objects available and record a video of the same.

Video of this can be shared with the teacher for review.
