The City of Brussels is the largest municipality and historical center of the Brussels-Capital Region, as well as the capital of Belgium. It is also the administrative center of the European Union and is thus often called the EU's capital city.

The national animal of Belgium is the lion which is shown on the emblem of the country.

The common kestrel is a bird of prey species belonging to the kestrel group of the falcon family Falconidae. It is also known as the European kestrel, Eurasian kestrel, or Old World Kestrel.

The euro banknotes and coins were introduced in Belgium on 1 January 2002, after a transitional period of three years when the euro was the official currency but only existed as 'book money.’

BalFolk is a dance event for folk dance and folk music in a number of European countries, mainly in France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, and Poland. It is also known as folk ball.

The national flower of Belgium is the Red poppy.  It belongs to the Papaveraceae family and subfamily Papaveroideae. Red Poppies are nonwoody annual plants having a life cycle lasting two seasons or short-lived lasting for three seasons or more plants.

Brussels waffle is one of the two Belgian waffle varieties, a delicious cake enjoying the status of Belgium's national dessert.
