Ancient way of measuring weights

Questions

Have you ever imagined when these tools were not available, how did people measure weight in the past?

In ancient times, people lived in small groups where trade was an important part of their daily lives. They traded goods such as crops, livestock, and other valuable items, but they had no way of accurately measuring their weights.

The first type of balance used was a human balance, where people would compare the weights of small objects by holding one in each hand and guessing whether one was heavier or whether the two weighed about the same.

Samuel holds wheat grains in one hand and apples in the other and tries to balance it.

The argument continues, until eventually, it turns into a physical fight between the three of them.

The market becomes chaotic, seeing that the guards dragged all three of them to the king’s palace.
